the ACen Guys present: Nobody Likes You! (... and here's why) Saturday May 9, 2009 @ 10:30pm Ballroom C
You've seen them before, the hug-signs kids, the creepy-eyed, babbling, baby-ingesting fanboys; and I'm sure you've wondered how you can be one of the cool kids who doesn't stick out like a sore extremity in a sea of uggos. Then come on down to spend an hour or six with the ACen Guys, and we'll learn ya real good on the basics and finer points of convention etiquette. Featuring witty commentary, sharp language, venn diagrams and exclamation points!

How can you live with yourself? Missing an ACen... tsk tsk.
Yes, we are doing another panel this year "Nobody Likes You! (... and here's why)." Which will examine social circles in conventions. A day and time has not yet been announced.
The forums are very much dead, as is most of the site. We'll work on that when we have free time again.

ACen 2009 « Result #11 on Jan 5, 2009, 2:18pm »
Your forums are DEAD. You have to get some people on here!
I'm coming back, hell yes! I missed last year for the first time since I had been attending since 04. Apparently some guests have already been announced (which apparently happened recently because even the front page to acen's site still hasn't updated) and they just opened registration for the masquerade the other day. Are you guys planning on doing another panel? ^_^
What are you all going to be cosplaying this year? I'm planning on Mercedes from Odin Sphere, Horo from Spice and Wolf, Amulet Heart from Shugo Chara, and something else... not quite sure yet. I have to keep it light because big props and planes don't mix.

ACen 2009 Site Online- Hotel Block Coming Soon! « Result #18 on Sept 17, 2008, 11:07pm »
We're a couple of weeks behind on the news, but Anime Central's Website is online with a flashy new look! Though it's still in rough form and the bulk of the content has yet to be put up, it's good to see the convention getting a rolling start with plenty of time ahead. It's also nice to see the artwork taking a turn for the professional.
There have also been announcements on the forums regarding improvements made for the coming year, namely the hotel situation. Those who experienced problems with hotel booking last year will be happy to know that ACen has literally put the hotel on lockdown for the weekend. The room block will not open until Anime Central officially announces it, and the hotel staff has confirmed that they are not able to book any rooms until their agreement finalizes with MAPS. No improper booking, fucked up pricing, or swearing like last year. Stay tuned, staff has announced that more information on the hotel block will be coming soon.
The convention has also announced it's new chair for the coming year, Rosa Halcomb. Her influence thus far on the forums and her front page greeting are showing promise, and a fresh outlook on the convention already brings a breath of relief.
There is plenty of new information being posted daily to their site and forums, so keep an eye out for more news on ACen 09.

Re: Dragonball Z « Result #19 on Sept 13, 2008, 1:20pm »
The movie is actually just called "Dragonball" which is even more confusing. I have not at any point in time had the slightest bit of hope this movie would be good, or even decent for that matter. I will reserve any final judgement for the trailer and eventually the movie itself. However if the production stills being released are any indication my theory of pure suckanage will be proven correct. Oh, please prove me wrong.

Dragonball Z « Result #20 on Sept 13, 2008, 12:00am »
Not that I really had any reason to get my hopes up about it other than sheer morbid curiosity, I think this recent development has swayed my opinion against. http://www.majorspoilers.com/archives/6206.htm/ I already knew it was James Marsters.. but those pictures of "Lost Piccolo"... ick. Looks nothing like he is supposed to. Back in my day etc etc.. respect to source material.. doom.
